Summary****-

  • Good equipment; high quality
  • Toyota Aygo and Citroën C1 offer cheaper models

Peugeot's version of the Peugeot-Citroën-Toyota joint small car project shares 92% of its components with those wearing Citroën and Toyota badges, but starts at a slightly higher price point. However, the Peugeot 107 is better equipped than the C1 and Aygo, with side airbags and electric front windows as standard. It's aimed at two different sets of buyers: the under-25s and the over-55s and joins two other small cars in the Peugeot line-up: the 1007 and the 206. The 107 shares its 1.0-litre three-cylinder engine with the C1 and Aygo and will become available with a normally-aspirated 1.4 common rail diesel in 2006. The 107 performs as well as the Toyota and Citroen with subtle differences down to styling, price and specification.
