The VXR badge is finally applied to perhaps the most important model within the Vauxhall line-up, going head to head with the Golf GTi and the forthcoming Ford Focus ST. It builds upon the undeniable good looks of the Sport Hatch with a more pronounced bodykit, a central exhaust tailpipe and big chunky alloy wheels. It's party piece is bountiful, exuberant thrust courtesy of its turbocharged engine. It is a very fast car although it takes concentration to drive it to its maximum potential. The Golf GTi is more mature in it's behaviour but not as quick - in a straight line at least. There's plenty to like about the VXR if you don't mind a bit of unruliness.
